About Jamie Lofy

I am a graduate of the University of Vermont’s School of Education and hold a Master’s degree in Education and a Reading Specialist certification from the University of Minnesota.

During my career as a teacher and reading specialist, I worked with so many students - bright, resourceful, motivated students - experiencing executive function challenges that kept them from achieving success. After two decades of teaching, I now dedicate myself full-time to serving as an executive function coach.

I am also the mother of two young adults, and I see the executive function challenges that so many young people face. I know it can be especially hard to parent when your child is experiencing executive function difficulties, ADHD, and other learning challenges.

An inveterate list-maker and organizer, I love the satisfaction that comes with setting goals and crossing them off a list. I am a steadfast believer that most everything is possible with a good plan and the tools to follow through.

Prior to founding Learning Strategies in 2017, I served as a teacher then a reading specialist and math interventionist, working directly with students and supporting teachers in schools across Colorado, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Vermont.

I am based in the Green Mountains of northern Vermont, and when I’m not working, you can usually find me outside, with my family.
